2 years

This baby turned 2 yesterday...
My other baby turned 2 weeks yesterday. Both had check-ups at the pediatrician's office. Both passed all exams with flying colors. Paige showed her true colors for the doctor by answering EVERY question with "NO" and a not so pleasant face. Thankfully our pediatrician is a mother of a 2 year old {& 4 year old & 6 year old} so she's been there and done that! :)

We celebrated with family & friends on Sunday night with the most delightful cake {thanks, Hannah! We copied!} made by 2 very sweet babysitters.
This is a very matter-of-fact blog post. I'm totally pooped out. Perhaps it is from the lack of sleep, a sore abdomen {from a recent allergy attack that has brought on too many sneezes to count... anyone who's ever had a c-section can sympathize w/sneezing after abdominal surgery}, 3 children 3 years old & under, and a mother who is travelling 600 miles to return home tomorrow morning have me at a loss for words. Y'all can pray for me! I think I can handle this. Certainly I can, right? We'll find out tomorrow. I wish Mom { & DaddyBoy} lived in our garage. I've offered numerous times, they might think I'm kidding, but I'm not. It's got a full bathroom in it... all it needs is a little AC and some "love" {surely Erika could come up with a killer renovation plan}.

Ok, off to shower it's been a couple days and with Mom leaving it could be 3 or 4 more... YIKES!

Darby, You're truly a model for me. I think I can make these next few weeks if you can. ;) We can do this! God never promised life to be easy, right? However, you are up for some MAJOR rewards in the coming years through these amazing children! How blessed you are, sweet friend.
I'm glad you got a shower, and I hope that allergy leaves you alone!
The b'day cake(s) :) are SO precious! Gosh, I just love your blog. I've missed you.
Love you.

Oh I'm feelin' you on this. Been there...still in the trenches...but no newborn. The days of having a newborn, a 15 month old, a 3 year old and a 6 year old are now a blur.

Keep thinking this: their closeness in ages will be so wonderful that they will all be eachother's best playmates and later on best friends. That's how it is over here. It's intense and has some rough spots, but the good certainly outweighs the bad.

You're amazing. I'll be praying for sure.

Aww, Happy Birthday to Paige!

Girl, may the force be with you! From what I've seen on your blog, you're a great Momma and will make it. I'm not gonna lie, being a mom of 3 little ones is HARD, but it's worth it. Those days when I had three 5 and under seem like forever ago, though it's only been 2 years. Enjoy this time, it goes by fast!

I hope you received my email!....

When my youngest was a newborn my daughter was two and my son had just turned four. It was exhausting! I remember thinking that I would never accomplish anything from start to finish again. Just take it day by day! And, even though times can be crazy, I love having my kids close in age. It's so nice to have everyone on the same page with similar interests -- they're definitely built in playmates.

The cake was adorable and so is your new two year old!

I love the cake! Too cute!! I think the one thing that helped me with having two so close together is having a schedule! It's hard to stick to one but it really makes the days a lot easier. Good luck!!

Hi Darby, I think I found your blog through Tegan's? Anyway, I check in on you from time to time and love reading your blog. I will be praying for you in this time. It is a little intense when you are alone with three babes, but God will grant you peace and patience and strength. Snuggle up with that new baby, the third one grows faster than the first and second did... Tyne (When my third was born, I had a just turned three year old and a sixteen month old).

You'll be fine. I like to get a routine. You'll find what works for you all and you will just do it...not easy, but what in life worthwhile is really easy? Hope that you're doing better. I didn't know how rough a C section was, I should have helped Amanda out more. Whoops.
