My Birthday Present

My sister had such wonderful intentions for a birthday present for me:

1) a trip to the nail salon to have our toenails painted &
2) a trip to a local little boutique where I could pick out any dress I wanted

The ideas sounded lovely!

BUT...

1) the nail salon was closed when we got there

2) the boutique was fun but I tried on a lot of little dresses none of them were "me".

So instead, I picked out a high chair from the antique mall.

I know it's pretty laughable that I would pass up a manicure and party dress for a high chair! But I'm not normal.

Monday morning I put him in it.

And was confident that I made the right decision.

He ate really well and I nearly ate him as he sat in it like a big boy!

Then I put him back in it for lunch. He was thrilled.

He did his best ostrich impersonation.

I cracked up.
He cracked up.

And then with all the excitement...

he had to POOP!

Have I mentioned that I love kids?

He is so stinkin adorable! I love the ostrich impression!

Very cute highchair, too. You made the right decision, although I did ask for a breast pump for Christmas the year that I had my little girl. (Talk about making your brother-in-law uncomfortable.) :)

I KNOW you well enough to know that you truly 'invested' WELL in the high chair, RATHER THAN on your feet, hands or on clothes! :) And anyone who reads your blog KNOWS you LOVE kiddos!!! ;) I LOVE that about YOU! You are transparent with your love!

Have a great weekend, and Happy Daddy's Day to Justin!!! :) We're off to the beach today! Woohoo!!

You made the right choice! The high chair will still be around when John Martin is a grown man, and the manicure and dress, though lovely would be long gone!
