A Little Something for Brother... finally!
From the "land of making clothes for the girls", I've finally ventured into the "land of making clothes for the boy"... here's my first attempt at something "boyish". The infant shirt is white pique & the peter pan collar is piped in the blue stripe of the diaper cover. The blue striped fabric is the same fabric as the girls sundresses. You can see in the picture below the diaper cover is all one piece and has 3 snaps on each side & elastic around the back part only. I buy my snaps and snap setter from Snap Source. And I purchased {for $1.49} the sailboat embroidery design from Embroidery Designs. Once you purchase any of their designs {in your machine's format} you can instantly download it!
The pattern is "Infant Shirt & Diaper Cover" by Creations by Michie. It's SUPER easy and has patterns for both girls & boys but only comes in Newborn, 3 mos and 6 mos.

Great first boy project! You have been doing so much sewing lately! I hope you are making some progress through your fabric pile...mine is always tall!
Sooo Precious!!! It's so much harder to find cute boy things, so it's a good thing that you can sew!!
SO SO CUTE!!!
What monogram machine do you have?? I have thought about getting one one day and I have no one else to ask for suggestions but you.
Okay, I just BOUGHT this (similar) outfit for a baby gift for one of my friends! I'm sure that I paid a lot more then it took to make it! I LOVE IT! I just told David last week that you have inspired me to learn to sew. I want a sewing machine and really do want to learn. He was all for it! Thanks for sharing...great job!
so, you pretty much amaze me! wish you (okay..and maybe I) could make eli cute little things like that...he just wears good ol' PLAY CLOTHES...and always has! :)
That is so cute I can't wait to see little Mr. Stickler in it!!! You are so talented my friend!
I think you might be in the nesting phase with all this sewing. So cute..
Beautiful!
ALL of my girlfriends are having boys, Darby!!! So, I'm passing this along.
Good job, and I am so impressed!
If your kids get any cuter, then they may be in grave danger of me eating them in one big bite!
I'm going to save this pic, so that if Jeremiah and I ever do have a boy I can point and say, "Look! Justin lets Darby dress their little boy, and look how cute and classy he is!" Jeremiah threatens to only allow denim on his son...can you even imagine?!
so that looks sort of 'beachy'- are they coming to see me as soon as he is old enough to wear that outfit? i hope so!

That is the cutest outfit. I think little boy clothes are so precious! Where did you get your embroidery machine? I would absolutely love one, haven't been able to find one in my price range. (cheap)Any advice?
You're so talented! I'm jealous... and I'm especially jealous that you have a hubby who will allow you to put your baby boy in a swing top with a peter pan collar. Personally, I think they're adorable and classic but he has already put the kibosh on anything similar for a boy we may or may not have in the future! Oh well... at least I'm able to put our daughter in just about anything I want!
xoxo
That is adorable! I never got around to making anything for my boy. Now that he's about to turn 4, I think I've lost my chance.
