That is a hilarious cartoon!

What about the kids who can't get out and trick or treat because of sick parents or have no money for a costume or because there mom works as a teacher and also works a second job at night to put food on the table. Those are the people for who the help should be provided, no doubt there are those that take advantage but what about those that do not. Jesus would have been a democrat, and thus has provided us with Obama. Thank God!

L-O-V-E, LOVE IT!!

Hey anonymous, let's keep church and state seperate, kay? I am not arguing for one candidate or the other. I just don't like people putting thier own viewpoints on my Savior.

Jesus told us as individuals to take care of others - not to enforce governmental socialism. Read your bible. Life's not fair...they used to say it gives ya character...and that is something we all need a bit more of.

if you want controversy, just talk about politics, right? ;) Jesus would have been a democrat??? lol... loved the cartoon! I'm going to vote tomorrow! This election has me nervous (though I know God's still in control)....I agree, we need all the help we can get!

God is in control, but we should stockpile food and ammo all the same. This could get ugly.

I love, love, love it! Preach on Katie!!!!

Great comment anonymous. I think you could have said things a little differently and made your point even better. Here, let's see how this works:

"What about the kids who can't get out and trick or treat because their little bodies were ripped apart one limb at a time by abortion doctors before they were born? Those are not the people for whom help should be provided. No doubt there are those that don't get to live but what about those that do? Jesus would have been a democrat, and thus has provided us with Obama. Thank God!"

Kellie said...

Wow! some kind of controversy started here -- AMMO??????

Great cartoon! So true! I also agree with your politics...
I can understand why "anonymous" didn't give her name... I still find it hard to believe that there are people who can't see truth... and Jesus was not "religious" or "political" - Thank GOD!
Go McCAIN!

So here I go…
Why can’t there be a happy medium? Why is it so hard to believe and understand that democrat does NOT always equal socialism, pro-abortion, and tax hungry.
Why can’t there be a democrat who is God fearing and God loving, a democrat who is pro-life and understands the need for much reform in that area, a democrat who cares for the unborn just as much as she cares for the children who are here now and suffer, a democrat who is compassionate about all not just those that are the same as I, a democrat who believes that a child shall never go hungry, a democrat who supports the troops and supports programs that make sure they are well taken care off when they return and there after, a democrat who believes a wife should not have to watch her husband die because their insurance refuses to pay for a transplant due to a “pre-existing” condition, a democrat who believes that education should be a priority and we as a nation should provide for that, a democrat who tries to live her life without generalizations about others, and with all my might lives a life free of ignorance and free of beliefs in propaganda. I live a privileged life in many people’s eyes, but I have not always lived such a life. I have seen suffering and have experienced suffering, and only wish that a child and those in need of help receive it. Which is why I support a country in which my excess and my tax dollars go to such programs that provide in all I believe. No doubt there are extremists on both sides, but there are those such as myself who hope only for fairness and compassion.

the johnsons are right on.

My family is a good family. We are God-fearing just like all of you. I like to decorate my house, make Halloween costumes for my kids, bake pumpkin rolls and ride my son to school in my bike trailer. And we make lots of money and will see a 3% increase under Barack's plan, and I WELCOME IT! Several months ago my doctors--the best in Houston--informed me that I would have to choose my unborn baby or my life. My life is not my own. It is also for a precious 2-year-old boy and a loving, fair and honest husband. I chose life. I chose my own life for my son and my husband. Thank God I had that choice. Thank God other peoples' black and white views on abortion were not imposed upon me. Because of the choice I had, my son has a mother. My husband, a wife.

First I want to apologize for the sarcastic tone of my earlier comment. That kind of stuff isn't helpful, and it's not what I'm about.

To The Johnsons: I wish there were more democrats who were truly pro-life, and less republicans who were pro-abortion. I wish everybody were pro-life, and with that in mind, that we then worked out how best to care for the people who are already born. I still would favor private solutions over government solutions, but I'd love to have that debate while recognizing that life is sacred. Sadly, the candidates at the top of the tickets disagree on this issue, so I have to support the one who does not condone the murder of babies.

To Amy: Nobody is suggesting that abortion be illegal in cases where the life of the mother is in jeopardy. Arguably that is the only reason that an abortion might be a viable option for a Christian. As for the 3% increase you will see, I will come out better under Obama's plan than McCain's too. But since 1.3 million babies are aborted each year, that issue trumps tax breaks in my mind. And further, the tax break I get will come out of the pocket of someone else, and I don't want the government to steal money on my behalf. It's the golden rule.

To Darby: Sorry for hijacking your blog post again. I promise I'm done.

3% increase?! How brainwashed we all are! So now that the Gov't is taking 3% less of our hard earned money we call it an increase? How about we actually might get to keep more of the money we earn. But wait, increasing taxes on things like capital gains and corporations will just discourage investments and drive up the price of goods and services so essentially how much more will we really have? How will taxes passed on to the consumer help the poor? Do you really believe that the Gov't can spend your money better and more wisely than you can?

Also, when you buy your ammo, be sure that you've got plenty of guns to shoot it out of. The more guns and ammo, the less food you'll have to stock.

HILARIOUS and SO TRUE!

McCain/Palin 08!!!.....I am praying boldly that the Lord will intervene in this election and not allow Obama to win......if He so chooses to allow this, it is because He will be returning soon and Obama's Presidency will signal the beginning of the END! AMEN! God is in control and He loves His children!
God FIRST and then COUNTRY! GO USA!

Katie, for you I say, you go girl!

Ok I just can't help my self but posting on this too. What happens when your great GOD, Who happens to be mine too lets Obama win? What will you do then? I don't know how it is going to go but I know that I voted and can only hope like some one on any team that mine wins. I also have to say if you only watch fox news you might need to balance it out, maybe with a little NPR. Yes radios in Alabama do get public news stations I know because I graduated from UA. Now that said, tear the post apart if you must and as long are you're voting then I suppose your alright.

Wow. There are some seriously scary hate filled comments on this blog. Everyone has the right to express their opinion. I just never realized there were so many racist ignorant people in our country. If you are going to outlaw abortion, you better figure out a way to care for all those unwanted children who are born to mothers who do not have the means or maturity to care for them.

Anonymous said...

Hey guys, not everyone in the US is a Christian. So, to you Christians, keep your religion out of my politics, you would not want someone who has other values trying to impose them on you. Your christian values are as scary to me as mine would be to you. Secondly, regulation does not equal socialism, de regulation is why we are in the financial fiasco we are in now. Secondly, I think as an American we have a moral responsibility to give of ourselves to improve our communities, dont bitch about having to give a little more.

Folks, that comic misses the mark and is cruel. So many seem to have bought into scare tactics that Obama is a socialist here to take your money. How absurd. Sure there are some freeloaders looking for handouts. There will always be some abuse of the system. But those of us who live in comfortable, climate controlled houses and have employers who pay a decent wage and provide health insurance really have NO IDEA what life is like for so many HARDWORKING Americans who struggle to survive. Democracy is built on helping others. Do you know that in 2000, running against Bush for the Republican nomination, McCain complained about Bush tax cuts saying "when you reach a certain level of comfort, there is nothing wrong with paying somewhat more"! To be Pro-Life means to answer a call to support and defend human life AT ALL STAGES - from conception until death. The best way to combat abortion is to give women and families the tools they need to choose life. Overturning Roe will not make abortion illegal and should not be the litmus test for choosing a candidate. BTW, I like McCain but was disappointed in his selection of Palin. This isn't a high school popularity contest people. She could not answer the simplest of questions! So self-absorbed! Obama doesn't worry me, but Nancy Pelosi and congress do. And so do you folks who are so judgmental and self-righteous! Too funny, LOL, Hilarious?? WHAT???

hey Darby,
this is Taylor- Abby Mad's sister- i saw your comment on Abbys about the craziness that went down on your blog so I decided to see it for myself.
You were right-it got a bit heated- but i wanted to be a positive comment to cap off all this egotistical political hullabaloo.
Thank you for your beliefs and I do fear where i nation is headed when we start denying the Christian and God fearing foundation from which America rose.
Your family is beautiful. Have a happy and blessed day today.

Taylor, I am someone who loves you lots, I am sorry you think that our gov is attached to a church, shame shame on you for being so closed mineded. I thought you were better then that, I though you of all people would realize that not everyone isa invested in being a christian, shame on you for turning your back on all the people in the world who dont know or want to know god but are sweet and kind, and need help from us, shame on you for havinga a black poor women care about your family who you forget about and neglect when you cast a vote, shame on you taylor shame on you. We are all in this together christians muslims jews we all see things differently, lets do something good together and leave our religion out of it.

Anonymous said...

anonymous, why would you be an anon with such bad things to say about Taylor's comments. That is pretty small of you, I think. Next time you reprimand someone, how about putting your name with it.......Taylor is so right about God being left out of everything because now that is the "politically correct" thing to do. Our forefathers did not mean for that to happen and founded this country that we love upon the religious and moral values found in God's Word, the BIBLE.....Just had to have my say in defense of Taylor!

Taylor said...

Morality, goodness, kindness and the like I equate with God NOT church/religion n govmt
You made that assumption NOT me.

I voted based on platform and NOT the color of a man’s skin.

I am disgusted by Partial Birth Abortion- you should google it
I believe that paying more taxes=paying more money to the govmt= wealthier politicians NOT prosperous poor
Here are a few words from a man who brought about some real change in American history :

"You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. You cannot help the small men by tearing down the big men. You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich. You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling down the wage payer. You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than your income. You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatreds. You cannot establish security on borrowed money. You cannot build character and courage by taking away man's initiative and independence. You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves."
---Abraham Lincoln---

Lastly, I do not equate shaming someone anonymously with “loving them lots.”

These comments are crazy! To the anonymous person shaming those who are bringing God's word into this, as someone said above it's nice to keep church and state separate. I'm pretty sure they are just trying to stick to their ideals and what's right to them, not pushing it on you.
