Things {from today} That Make Me Happy!

My HUSBAND is home... any one who has three children, 18 children*, or no children can appreciate the wonderful feeling of having your husband home after business has taken him away. And although it wasn't the pine straw that took him away this picture uploaded with the rest... My beloved TWIN SISTER {whom was his hospitable hostess} sent home a dreamy fabric sample for John Martin's curtains and... HALLOWEEN GOODIES for the kids. As you can see Morgan wasted no time breaking into it all {& I wasted no time devouring the dipped pretzel rods!}...
A WARM BOWL of HOMEMADE CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP {with a slice of yummy chewy sourdough}...
A CRACKLING FIRE that is burning in our fireplace tonight... would y'all believe me if I told you that last Wednesday my children swam in the pool and tonight we're in fleece jammies sitting by a fire? {only in the south}...
If I can't find {or make} HALLOWEEN COSTUMES in the next few days... I have my aunt to thank for 3 SUPER CUTE ANIMAL MASKS that have been a hit around here...
the fact that my children genuinely love one another...
and last but not least... I am humbled and grateful that you all are willing to HELP WITH A COOKIE SALE. I love it when a lot of people are willing to do a little because then a few people don't have to do a lot! I'm excited and grateful for your willingness!! Emily Shiver will you email me? I got your comment but don't have your email address...
Now back to that fire...

*raise your hand if you love the Duggars! And I thought I liked Dog... they're even more entertaining. I think TLC tries to poke fun at them... like inquiring if Mrs. Duggar is setting up her daughter's to be housewives... oh, now wouldn't that be such a tragedy if her daughter's were well equipped to be housewives & mothers! I could go on and on about that subject... but I'll get back to my fire and save it for another day.

I am totally addicted to the Duggars and wrote about them a couple of weeks ago since I'm hooked on Monday nights now. I've been a fan for a long time, though. :-)

The kids look so cute and the fire looks super inviting. Wouldn't mind being there with you, in front of the fire, glass of red wine, your homemade soup and the duggars on tv. I love watching shows about them too... it's heart- warming and freaky at the same time, so much organization!

I know all too well, all the feelings you have - especially about Justing coming home - Will has to travel about every 2-3 months with work, and he goes to all the Alabama football games (away), and I can't WAIT for him to get home! I love more than anything watching my children love each other - it makes my heart swell!

I love to have a fire in the fireplace! So relaxing! There is nothing better than snuggling up by a fire!

I like to watch the Duggars {When I get the chance}. They amaze me! And I am totally with you on the housewife/mother subject! Wouldn't it be such a tragedy to teach your daughters to be housewives?!!!! Yeah, I could talk for days about that!!

I enjoy your blog so much!

So cute, Darby! Raiger with the paci is hilarious! Glad Justin is back home with you and the children. I know how hard it is for Geo to travel, I can't imagine doing it with 3 children!! The fire looks wonderful! I may start one myself!

Hey,
Check out my blog and look at the girls outfits. bumble bees and lady bug. Look on you tube for no sew tutu tutorial. I made both of their tutus-turned out super cute, i think. then all you need is tights, leotard and wings. I also made black hairbows and just added the red/yellow respective tenticles sp?

Hi, L.A.'s friend commenting again. I feel the same way about mainstream media casting their opinion that staying home or homeschooling is odd or old fashioned. The Duggars have polite, kind, well behaved and children . So maybe Michelle and Jim Bob's (his name makes me laugh every time I hear it) tactics are so out-of-date afterall!

I noticed that TLC was advertising an upcoming special called "Purity Ball" where daughters commit to being pure until marriage. I can already tell they are going to edit the show to have a creepy, perverted vibe.

And again I ask, is it uncool to want you daughters to not base their self esteem on boys or not risk getting pregnant?

Other than that, I do love TLC!

I do love the DUGGARS! Did you see last week when Joshua got engaged and brought his fiance home to meet everyone? That was just about the sweetest thing I have ever witness. I could just see how the Lord picked out that precious girl to be the one for Joshua. I do think TLC makes fun of them sometime. But that Mrs. Duggar is so kind and sweet and patient with her brood! She never raises her voice. It is amazing to me. She is my hero!
