"Rodent You Be Our Valentine?"
Here's what you need {found most at Michaels, some I had}:
- 6mm eyeballs
- 5mm pom poms
- a little tacky craft glue
- some sticky squares or dots
- a sheet of pink foam
- pink yarn
- Hershey's Kisses
You use the glue to attach the eyes, nose, and tail... the sticky square to hold the kisses together.
Be sure to get your kids in on the fun because everything is more stressful fun when you have scissors, glue and toddlers.
I made a little template for the ears by tracing a Hershey's Kiss and adding the ears then I used that template and traced my ears on the foam with a water soluable fabric marker, cut out as many as I needed, then ran the little ears under water to wash off all my markings. They dry really quick. And they're so cute you won't be able to stop taking pictures of them. I honestly think my husband may think I've lost it... oh well! I seriously took about 100 pictures of these little mice...
And this one looked like he was smiling...
Y'all give it a try... maybe you should do every Hershey's Kiss in the bag and then they'll all be so cute you won't want to eat them. Nevermind... if you're like me you'll say, "Oh darn, his eyes are crooked... Mommy better eat this one!"

OH MY GOSH.
You kill me.
Remember the Christmas at the farm where I found a mouse eating my chocolate from Santa. That will forever change my thoughts about cute little mice and chocolate.
They are too cute. They look especially cute on your table.
I love you! Wish I could have been there making those with you today. Instead I've worked up a migraine! It's quitting time indeed!
Love you,
e
Seriously...where do you come up with these ideas. SO FUN!!!
You always do such fun projects with your children, you're such a great mom!
These little mice are about the cutest I have ever seen! You are amazing, Darby!

Those are so cute,Darby!
Oh my gracious - these are adorable! I especially liked your rationale for mommy eating them. That's SO something I would do.
Love them! You were right, they were def. worth a pre-game email to spoil all of the fun!
They are darling! I just love them!
hilarious! They are soo cute! and I even hate rodents with a passion! but heck, I would love even mice if it means a little chocolate :)
Hilarious! Not to mention delicious. If I dare bring anymore choicolate into this home, though, we'll all be in BIG trouble.
Thanks for sharing, Darby. It's a precious project for the youngesters.
Those are hilarious and so cute!! I need to do fun things like that. I got my kids involved today when I was stapling Valentine's fruit snacks to their Cars cards. I said, "here, push down this stapler" and then proceeded to do it all for them.
There goes the Mother of the Year award. So close. Maybe next year. :)
I'll go for the mice- just for the chocolate- next year! Absolutely adorable!!
Darby, I just posted this and mentioned you on my blog. I don't see how you do all this with three kids. wow! I'm saving this project for when ella gets older
Those are adorable - I might just have to try some for Davis' class.
These are adorable and HILARIOUS! The pic of the smiling mouse made me laugh outloud! Your children are so lucky to have such a fun and creative Mommy!
These are super cute. How did you attach the tail?
Susan
Hey Susan... and anyone else wondering how to attach the tail... I forgot that step... you use the glue. Dab it on and stick it on.... I added that to the post! Sorry I forgot that minor detail... we can't have any tail-less mice out there!
Those are fun. Too cute to eat!
You are just too much, Darby!! :)
You ought to be a teacher of creativity in a children's school!
Seriously!
Ha! Love the appropriately strike through on the stressful there!
Those are so cute, Darby!!!

So cute! I love sewing, smocking, knitting and crafting. My kids are older now, but I remember all those crafting years! Soon I will get to relive all this with Grandchildren..I can't wait.
