The Fruit of my Labor
Our across-the-street-neighbor's yard looks like this:
Ours doesn't.
I've never met them but I figured they were friendly. And since I've never been too shy, I looked up their phone number, dialed and politely asked Dr. C if he would mind if the kids and I came over to visit his yard for some photos; he kindly obliged.
I'm loving my new camera. I'll tell you all about it in the next post... for now... here are a few pics from my first try. BTW, it's really hard to get a photo of an 8 month old, 2 year old, & 4 year old... this was my only one of all 3.
See you soon. I promise.

What camera did you get? Beautiful!
Whose house was that? Beautiful. I'm coming to Dothan in 2 weeks...please let me stop by to see your beautiful kids!!! And, saying hey to justin would be fun...it's been 12 years (not counting the time I ran into ya'll in the parking lot of Blue Plate).
=)
Wow, Darby you're pictures are beautiful, and so are your 3 children!! enjoy your new camera!!
Its spring in Alabama!!!!!! Those pictures are great....the flowers in the background are beautiful, but your kids...I could eat them up!
(Paige's hair is ADORABLE!)
What a difference a new camera makes! Your pictures were great before, Darby, but now the kids seem to pop out from the screen.
Your neighbors were too kind, but the pictures came out beautifully.
Job well done!
Adorable. Gorgeous yard too. I especially like the photo of Paige peeking in their door!
Darby,
I am SO excited for you! Yea for you! Hope you have tons of fun playing, learning, and experimenting! Great shots!
Wow, what a yard. That is absolutely beautiful. Great backdrop for those beautiful children.
great job sister! can't wait to see more!
great pics...only wishing that was my yard, it is just beautiful! :)
Cute :D Isn't it a GREAT feeling getting a new camera? Enjoy it!!
Okay, I guess Dr. J doesn't live there anymore - he used to live across the street from me and then moved THERE and he was my dentist growing up - I always wanted to go in that house! Bravo to you for having the courage to call and ask!!!! I can see you're having as much fun as I have had with that new camera - which one did you decide on? Great job, they are PRECIOUS - and the Raiger peeping in the windows is too much!
OMGoodness!!! Your children are the most precious (besides my own, of course! ;)
I think you've got some serious ninja photography skills in-the-making! It doesn't hurt that your neighbor's azaleas are rather perfect, either.
Can't wait to see all the new tales told via your new toy - btw, what did you buy? Same Canon as your sis?
Take Care!
Love the pictures....your kids are beautiful! I have the same problem yard wise...our neighbor wins yard of the month( I promise its a real contest) and we joke that we help her get take home the glory because our yard looks so awful by comparison....
Seriously, could your kids be ANY cuter??> LOVE the new pics from your NEW, hard-earned camera!!! They are beautiful!! AND I am a HUGE fan of candid shots, and therefore LOVE the one of all 3 together!! Totally a "frameable" pic....
Much love from KY
Love the pictures! Doesn't the camera really make a difference? Who would've thought? I can't wait to read the post - you and Erika have to impart your photography learning on me, too. I'm STILL adjusting and trying to figure it all out, and it's been 6 months!
What cute pics! You are too funny asking to come to their yard;) What a great place for photos!! How is Morgie doing with her thumb? I'm praying for you all!
XOXO

I totally recognize that house in the background. I got a fancy new camera for Christmas - but my husband has somehow claimed it as his own. Beautiful pictures!
Beautiful, my friend! Absolutely beautiful! You're doing a great job, but those subjects seem pretty cute in every picture. :)
Hi Darby! I dont know you but I caught your blog link from Brittny Hemphill and Ive been "following you" since your yard sale. You have great blog and a precious family! Your kids are just beautiful!! The recent photos rock! ;-)

These were delightful! Thanks for sharing. I can't wait to see more from you new camera. Wow!! You're already a pro.
oh, d! I Love those three SWEEEEET babes!!!
Beautiful pictures!!
I cant get over your kids, I mean they are adorable, Paige with her perfectly coffee brown eyes, and all that sun bleached blonde hair. I love your photos, oh and how in the world do you keep those white dresses looking so perfectly white. My daughter wears anything with white and we have instant stains.
Your children are beautiful. I don't blog so this comment is identified as "anonymous." But you are amazing...I would love to have you as a neighbor, my kids are older and I loved the little kid time, it passes too fast. Hopefully this does not sound creepy.
Kendall

Your children are so adorable. The photos you took could have been done by a professional. Anxious to learn more about your camera.
I love the precocious Morgan looking at Paige shot and sweet Paige looking in the glass french door. Well done!

First of all...your kids are absolutely adorable!!! Secondly, I love the white dresses, I suppose you got those at Wal-Mart or made them yourself!!! And finally, the weather there looks wonderful. Just so you know, it's going to be 39 degrees with a possiblity of snow up here in NEBRASKA!!!
