I'm still here and very pregnant...

Sorry folks... I've left you hangin' for a few days. I've been in a "nesting mode" especially since he'll be here in just a few days! Monday @ noon is the plan! I honestly can't believe it and we seriously have to have a name before we get to the hospital.... heavy medication and naming a baby could prove disastrous for the little man. I haven't been able to relax at the OB's office... perhaps it's the pressure of "your BP needs to come down or we'll do a c-section"... but "no pressure to relax"... ha! Yeah right. This morning before I left it was 114/68... that's like 1/2 dead & when I got there 146/92 that's the other extreme of 1/2 dead. Oh well! At least she believes me that I have some mental issues and thankfully not some 'preeclampsia or toxemia' issues! :) He's coming into the world a little over 2 weeks early which makes me a tad nervous but the ultrasounds are showing he's 7+ lbs so hopefully he'll be ready for life outside the womb.

I wanted to have a VBAC and that's not exactly what has been decide upon and I'm trying to be ok with that, the Lord is helping me get there. A c-section sure does hurt really bad though. I've done it both ways and I'm finally convinced there's no easy way to get a child out of my uterus. Morgan was 8lbs 1 oz and this is what her trip through the pelvis did to her...

The nurses were smiling (probably because they were just glad my 3 hours of pushing was over) and I was mortified and afraid I had given birth to some creature not of this planet. Thankfully her head became more normal in shape and she resembled a human baby within 24 hours of being born. That's not to say that her birth wasn't traumatic. She had 104 fever when she was ripped from my body by vacuum and had a first apgar score of 4; all of which resulted in a 10 day hospital stay.

Paige was an elective c-section just 23 short months ago and just 20 short months after Morgan was born (you can do the math= I've pretty much been pregnant or breastfeeding since February of 2004... I've certainly become accustomed to sharing my body with another human being). I thought it would be a breeze. Ha! A breeze it wasn't but she at least looked a little more normal after being born.

I look at these 2 precious little creatures and I'm so thankful for them. I can't imagine my life without them and I'm equally excited to meet their little brother. I'm not sure they'll know what hit them when he makes his way home but I know they'll love him!

Well, that's the news from here. I'm hoping and praying that Mom & DaddyBoy can get here by Monday. The Raiger continues to keep me busy. If all I did all day long was walk behind her and pick up after her I'd never stop. I do love her precious little soul... despite it's fiestiness! :) She thankfully has refrained from covering her body in toothpaste for the last several days.

I started this yesterday and I'm hoping to wrap it up along with his nursery by Sunday! We'll see if I can do it!

Great Post! I am wishing you luck! You better get started on that name soon :) That is what happened to my middle name. Tired Mom + Too many drugs = Jonelle. What was ( I say was, bc I dropped it) that?

I know we don't really know each other but share many mutaul friends so I hope you don't mind me giving you some enouragement in this area...
I had a csection with Karoline because she was breech. Had an okay recovery but it pretty much hurt to move at all the first few days. I had a csection with Anderson because honestly I can't imagine giving birth the natural way... horrible I know, plus living away from family it was good for me to plan child care for K. Anyway, my second csection was MUCH better than my first. Recovery was a TON better and I think it was because I already had had a csection. SO I will pray for you an easy recovery the second go around. My biggest advice is get up and start walking ASAP! I had my csection at 11AM and I was walking by 4:30PM... I think that helped a lot! Good luck and we will pray for your little man, your girls, and you and Justin. God Bless!!
Oh, and I have been pregnant or breastfeeding since June 2005! I have 4 more months of BF! I am sad and happy all at the same time. Don't plan on a third but you never know I guess.

I had preeclampsia with my daughter so I was induced a week early... I'm just thankful there was no c-section involved! I would have been scared out of my mind (I was just going in for a BP check, not expecting to stay to deliver!). You've already had 2 beautiful, healthy girls though, so I'm sure you and the baby boy will do great! I finally gave up trying to come up with a name and let her daddy pick it out... I hope everything goes well and he's healthy and you recover quickly!

You worry me with all these projects! I'm not so sure you should have started ANOTHER one yesterday! That diaper bag thingy is cute, but I don't want you to hurt yourself! I think 2 little girls at home is enough right now, don't you??
ANYWAY...You are definitely in my prayers, and I can not wait to see what the little Stickler boy will look like?? A dark-headed boy perhaps?? Can't wait to find out! TAKE IT EASY, little mama! LOVE YOU!

Thanks Darby for "keepin' it real" - I have enjoyed your last few posts because your life parallels mine in the more chaotic moments!! I will be praying for you and your family in the coming weeks as you bring home your precious baby boy. Your life is filled with so many blessings! May Isaiah 26:3 give you comfort as you trust in the Lord for your strength.

Gosh, I thought you were due July 14th! He's coming EARLY!! Well, yeah! I'll be praying for you, girl, and I hope it goes so smoothly for you. I wish I could be there to watch the girls for you and just be there, but I know your mom & dad are planning to be there, and you'll have so many visitors. Oh, girl, the best I can do for you right now is to promise to pray, and that I will do!
Love you!
Looking forward to meeting the new little man via the Stickler blog! :)
I have missed you, too! :)

Congratulations!..I forget you're so pregnant because you just seem to keep plugging away at everything, your kids, your home, your blog....you deserve a vacation. Good Luck on Monday. What a blessing to have a baby boy after 2 girls. Boys are very different, and they really do fall in love with their moms.

Monday?! Really?! Its snuck up on me...although I am sure it has seemed like plenty of time to you. I remember Jeremiah meeting me for dinner after he'd been to visit yall at the hospital post-Morgan. I just kept saying, "Is she beautiful? They are so beautiful, she must be precious!"

He kept nodding in agreement but not saying much. I finally asked him why he was acting so sketchy, and he said, "Well, her head...I think she was in the birth canal a long time and they used a vacuum...but Justin says it will all go back to normal, and I'm sure it will :)"

Look what a beautiful well-rounded(pun intended) little girl she turned into! I'll be praying this delivery is better than the last two combined. With a quick recovery!

You don't know me but I stumbled upon your blog a few days I ago and I am so excited for your new little man! Your girls are precious, your house is adorable and your sewing is beautiful. You have inspired me to take it up again. I live in Charleston, South Carolina and just wanted to let you know that I read your blog. I am a stay-at-home Mom too with a three year old little girl and one on the way in January! Congrats again!
