Crayolas get cozy!

You stinkers! You emailed me and asked me to show you what I'm making for Christmas presents. So, I guess I'm caving and starting with those people that I know don't read the blog... my children. This is for Morgan. I believe she will love it. It's made from scraps I found in my sewing closet. She saw me working on it and asked, "Mommy, are you making another quilt?!" It's perfect to fill with her coloring books and all the crayons fit neatly in their place. The fabric was "prequilted". There's no pattern for this one... just did it from scratch but made sure it would hold several coloring books. I bet you could do it too! Do you have a little crafter on your list? If so, I suggest you give it a try. If you aren't friends with a sewing machine, you can find something similar here.

Cute!! My mom has a pattern sitting around for a roll-up fabric crayon-holder (same idea for the crayons, but not a bag)... I love the idea of the bag though to hold all the coloring books! I'm gonna have to remind my mom about this project ;) Can't wait to see what else you're working on...

I want one of my own!

I really need to start sewing...that machine from my mother-in-law is collecting dust! I have so many things that I'd like to try, but I just don't seem to be getting there yet. Instead, I'll suggest things for you to try :)... like the velvet and gingham tree skirt available online at Pottery Barn Kids. Take a look. I instantly thought of you when I saw it and thought you could whip it up in no time.

Can't wait to see what else you're busy making!

You are too cool for school. Seriously, where do you come up with these ideas... let alone the time to execute them so gracefully???

L.O.V.E. it sooo much! Would you want to make a couple to sell? Maybe if the price is right I could purchase a couple for some cousins?

I love the crayon bag! I'll have to keep it in mind for my niece next Christmas. This Christmas, I'm making her a princess/super hero cape.
Your crayon bag reminded me of a crayon apron I saw in a catalogue. I found a cute one at Target, too.

Ahhhh, GENIUS! No kidding, just five minutes ago I told Towns that if I found yet another color crayon in the floor I was going to throw them all in the trash can! Isn't that horrible? But considering I pick about 457 up out of the floor on a daily basis...or maybe more. You're so smart, D!

Yep. Would LOVE to borrow the bed if you wouldn't mind. I am not ready to change his room to "big" boy yet. Since he's my last baby. I would love to borrow it. Ben could pick it up tomorrow night. I am putting his mattress on the floor for tonight. I am so thankful someone told me about the little boy. I REALLY appreciate it!

How smart & creative are you?
I bet they'd be a hot seller in your ETSY shop.

I love it and I know that sweet Morgan will too! Question for you, where do you buy the majority of the fabric that you use to make your childlren clothes?

Darby, I am friends with Lauren Hauge and Lucy Henderly and I live in Fairhope. I have been reading your blog for a couple of months now and I always enjoy your posts. I finally had to comment on this adorable bag! I too am a sewer and I have sewn a similar bag for my daughter and for birthday presents for her friends. My bag only holds 8 crayons and holds a very small coloring book (Dover Little Activity Books) I find at Cracker Barrel of all places. It's perfect for carrying to church or the doctor's office, etc...
Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that I admire your craftiness and have enjoyed getting to know through this crazy "blog world".

Love it! Sorry about the peer pressure! ;) I hadn't even thought about sewing for the girl's presents! I wondering about what to do for everyone else!...the obligatory gifts, like in-laws!

So sweet, Let me look, we had a small bag with a flap and inside a similar pockets to hold crayons which came in handy in places while waiting for food, or take-off! You should sell these!

Oh my gosh that is the cutest thing ever! I have been reading your Blog every so often. We have a mutual friend Jana Currie. She had told me about you when you moved back to Dothan from Talle. I always get Jana to sew me stuff but I might could acutally try that one for myself! My little Hensley would LOVE that! You are like the most craftiest person ever! Thanks for the idea! Oh and congrats on your baby!
