Day 14:: Never Ordinary

barbie

Barbie was waiting for me this morning, tucked ever-so-gently between the oven and its handle. I do love life with children, every day is new and never ordinary. Thank you for all your kind words, encouragement, prayers, and advice for the hornet. He cried A LOT yesterday and last night, but I feel so encouraged and confident that he will sleep well soon! Last night I spotted him sporting these tortoiseshell glasses {upside down of course} and couldn't resist a quick picture.

please pay no attention to the disgusting baby cereal caked on his jammies

that top picture should be framed for the girls' room! It is so adorable!! I'm loving your "day in the life" shots.

This morning I found a butterfly magnet toy in my kitchen dish towel drawer! :-) She makes me smile! It's like a little surprise every time I find some toy somewhere. PS-no guilt on the PJs that too happens daily at our house....

he is so cute...and I love the barbie surprise. Obviously I don't have kids but my nephew has his own section in our "fancy" curio cabinet. Yes - shelf one is tea pots, shelf two is crystal candlesticks, shelf three is a blue matchbox car :)

He's so precious though! I know, I don't stay up all night with him though;) He still scratches his head when he cries? He must get really ticked off in there! Everything looked good at my appt. today...so unexplained. Who knows?? I'll talk to you soon!

I don't know if I've ever commented, but I'm a frequent reader, and I really enjoy your blog and your take on mommyhood. I have a 14 month old, and I can so understand feeling angsty and torn about the crying to sleep business. My sister gave me permission to let it happen, though, and to do what I needed to do to make it through: take a shower, go outside to work in the yard a little bit, or clean out the car. Whatever you need to do to help YOU make it, because the BABY will be fine!

We can be strong mommas! Our kids need us to put appropriate boundaries on them, and not only will they be better for it, but we will too. Hugs to you!

He really is a cutie - just remember you'll remember this time of crying it out and he won't. I found a star wars jedi in the butter this morning - go figure!

I just found your blog and love it! Can't wait to read through it. I, too, have a non-sleeper. The thing that helped us the most is a white noise machine. We got ours at Wal-mart or Target and it cost about $15. It has saved our sanity. She just sleeps so much better with a little background noise.
