More Yard Sale Madness!

morganeyes

This is a good representation of my mental state. No, not really... actually I'm doing well. But this picture was too funny. My mother is a saint... and we accomplished a lot yesterday. Annie is coming today so I'm hoping for another very productive day.

Have I mentioned this is going to be a "MULTIFAMILY" yard sale? There are several partcipants. It's going to be a slam up good sale. Justin has informed me that he's trying to get some "live music" {Josh Maddox}. Josh has to take a practice MCAT on Saturday so I'm not really counting on him... but it would be fun. There will also be free coffee. :)

I've polled 3 participants... Erika, Dona, & Marla... ok, and I'll answer too!

1) What do you think will be the first item {from your selection} to sell?

E: Fabric! I also have a pair of really cute stretched canvases (24x24) grapefruits & limes

D: a chest of drawers, but I wish it was the entertainment center
M: I can't even remember what is in this pile now! I am guessing the stuff from the store like the Thomas Paul pillows and frames will go pretty quickly.
marlasstuff
me: wicker chairs

2) What item will you be okay bringing back home with you?

E: My husband and my dogs.
D: clothes
M: I am not bringing anything home, am I?? If it was anything, I would bring all the starfish back since I know they will sell in the store this summer.
me: I hope to have nothing left! :)

3) How do you intend to spend the money you make?

E: A guest bedroom make-over in my house, it is definitely a worthy cause!!
D: buying sod for our yard
M: Hmmmmmm. I would love to say that I will be putting it toward a new rug for the living room, but truthfully, it will probably get spent on groceries and boring stuff like that.
me: new camera

4) If you only had 4 words to describe what it is that you are bringing what would they be?

E: Decoratorish Designerly Quality Value
D: cheap, well taken care of- oops that's five
M: Atypical, quality, eclectic, and valuable
me: various and assorted accoutrements

5) Do you know how to make correct change by counting forwards?

E: No. No. No. I'll be bringing my calculator too.
D: no, but Ryan's good with that
M: Yes, I am sure I have that skill.
me: YES! But it's been awhile.

I can't even begin to tell you how hard I have laughed these last few days! I walked into the garage yesterday to see JM suspended in the air in a walker that hasn't been cleaned in 5 years. I said, "Mom, do you see his feet? They don't even touch the ground." She said, "I figured it was better that way; his feet won't get dirty." I also whipped out the camera and surprised Mom with an impromptu video session... you must see... this one is even more entertaining than the first {sorry it's small, I filmed on a low resolution so it would fit on YouTube} & it is a mouse trap that she has tucked in the stroller:

Now some more details...
-- we will start at 7 am on Saturday {this Saturday}
-- we will accept cash only {sorry folks... but there's an ATM right up the street and we'll gladly hold your item while you secure some cash}
-- if you are coming to Dothan from the NORTH headed SOUTH on 231... you will see a neon green yard sale sign on 231 {pass the Target, Ross, Kohls shopping center}. Go through the light at Murphy Mill and the sign will be just after you pass Aaron's on the RIGHT. Follow the signs... you can't miss us. If you get to the Westgate Pkwy intersection you missed the first green sign... but that's OK, turn R on Westgate Pkwy. You will see another NEON green sign at the second street on your R {Briarcliff}. Follow Briarcliff until it ends... we'll be there. Hopefully you'll see droves and droves of people throwing money at us.
-- I can't wait to meet some of you crazies... especially the ones coming from B'ham and Auburn... and Troy. We'll have some chairs out there so we can have a little social hour too! And I'll gladly give directions to my favorite antique mall if you're up for more shopping!

A special thanks to:
Everlie for the WONDERFUL signs!
Mom for all her help and for the sore muscles, not from lifting but from laughing!
And a special thanks to those of you who plan to come! We simply cannot wait.

I stood and stared at those pics that Erika has at the Ballard Designs Outlet for probably 20 minutes before passing on them. They are so cute, but they wanted so much for them. Hope your sale goes well.
