Did Y'all Know..

I have the best sister on the planet. Guess what? Erika and Chance have the girls. That's right. They came and got them yesterday and have taken them all the way to ILLINOIS. If Uncle Chance didn't drive the biggest rig on the road I'd have thought longer about it. The girls were ecstatic about the trip. Erika had a nervous smile the whole time they were loading up yesterday. I kept asking, "are you sure you're ok with this?" She'd just kept smiling and then asked what to do if either of the girls needed to poop. Hilarious. It should be exciting. We are so grateful for their selflessness. E had a long week. Her stunning design work was slated for the cover of the Jan/Feb issue of Cottage Living which also featured a full spread on 3 of her kitchens and her own personal kitchen. But she didn't want me to tell you... because she's cool like that. And if you didn't see the news with CL... you can check it out here. And she still offered to take my children. If anyone needs a break it's her! And I'm certain a 12 hour trip with a 2 year old and 4 year old isn't exactly RELAXING. I hope she will blog about their traveling experience!

They drove from our house to Decatur, AL yesterday and spent the night with Jennie-Marie & Carlton and made the rest of the journey today. The best part.... we didn't tell Mom & DaddyBoy that the girls were coming! Mom was quite surprised to step outside the house and see 2 little blondies standing in front of her! I'd love to have seen the look on her face!

We'll be joining them late Monday night.

Justin and I have thoroughly enjoyed the "quietness" around the house. We made a quick trip to Tallahassee today to celebrate a new baby coming in just a few weeks. I've told you before how very much I love that city. It's beautiful and what's more beautiful is the house we were in and the company I was with. I always cherish what little time I'm afforded with old friends.

Oh Darby I am so glad you are having a short break and the kids are having a fun time. How sweet of Erika to make it all happen.
I was so sorry to hear about CL and now I feel even worse. I would love to see more of Erika's work. Will she show us what we missed? Please convince her to do that! Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!

So nice of them to do that and hopefully it allows you to get some R&R as well!

I'm also glad you let the cat out of the bag about E's CL story! It's been killing me. But this must only mean something so much grander than we could ever think is lurking around the corner for her!

Happy Thanksgiving and have fun at the farm. xx

wow!! down to one kid? i can't imagine. plus, i'm not sure if anyone loves me enough to take the boys that far alone lol!! and they stopped in decatur? that's only 20 minutes from me (i'm in athens.) i could have met someone i stalk! and now i'm even more depressed about CL. that would have been a collectors edition. i told her she should fly her flag at half staff!!

With the first pic, I thought, "Yay! Erika's pregnant!" :) She'll get a kick out of that one!

Y'all have a fun time...you and the men! ;) Travel safely tomorrow, and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

Gosh, I'll see you NEXT weekend! YAY!! We're off to Louisiana ourselves this Thursday early early morning and heading back home on Sunday. I'll be praying for your time to be so fulfilling and relaxing...by your parent's fireplace! :)

Love you!

Wow, that is above and beyond normal Aunt Duty! I am impressed, I'm not sure when I didn't have children of my own if I would have been so brave. I don't even like being in the car with my own children for so long! Hope you had a little R&R&R... the last R being for Romance:-) Bummed we won't get to see the CL spread... maybe there is a mock up somehwere that could be leaked online???

Oh! I would have loved to have seen that CL issue!! I'm sure it would be fabulous. That makes it even more depressing that CL is being shut down.

Glad you and your husband will have a bit of a break!

Oh, I look forward to hearing her travel stories. I am sure you enjoyed a quiet home for just a bit.

I am so sad to hear about Erika & CL. They are missing out! It will be no time before she is published!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Well lucky you, enjoy the quiet time with your little man! Every boy deserves a little alone time with his Mama.
